Children paint with spatulas!
Step 1
This project can get messy so be sure to cover the table with newspaper or a plastic tablecloth.
Step 2
Set out finger paints in shallow dishes or on paper plates. Set plastic spatulas nearby.
Step 3
Offer each child a sheet of paper.
Step 4
Demonstrate how to dip the spatula into the paint and then stamp it onto the paper. Splat!
Step 5
Invite the children to explore using the spatulas to paint. Discuss their techniques and the types of marks and patterns the spatulas leave.
