The South Dakota Association for the Education of Young Children is an affiliate chapter of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). SDAEYC is committed to enhancing the lives and education of the children and families of South Dakota to create lifelong learners.

As a voice for all young children and families, SDAEYC strives to provide services and meet the needs, rights, and well-being of all children and families in the state of South Dakota. The main focus of the SDAEYC is to provide quality education and services while fostering development and growth in children. The SDAEYC also works to provide quality services, growth, and development to all professionals in the field of early education.
